Dr Roope’s Retirement

On 31st March The Whiteley Surgery bids farewell to Dr Richard Roope as he retires as Senior Partner after almost 30 years of dedicated service to our practice population.

Since joining the practice in October 1991 Richard has seen much change in the nature and delivery of primary care services, and more specifically has overseen the development and move of the practice from Locks Road to Whiteley. In addition to his unstinting work within the practice Richard has also developed a clinical leadership role in Cancer services which has seen him hold positions locally, regionally and more recently nationally with CRUK/RCGP.

Fortunately we will not be losing his skills and wisdom completely as he will be continuing to support the Sovereign COVID Vaccination team, as well as continuing roles within Cancer services locally.

I am sure that all would wish to join me and all of the staff and colleagues in thanking Richard for his service, support and friendship over the many years that he has been part of the fabric of The Whiteley Surgery.
