Extended Opening Hours
In addition to the above times, there are a limited number of appointments available for GP’s and a variety of other healthcare staff on a Saturday morning, for those patients who do not find it easy to access the surgery during normal working hours. These clinics are being offered as part of Sovereign Health Network and are based at Highlands Practice; clinic times and the Highlands Practice address can be found below.

Out of Hours Service
The responsibility for providing out-of-hours cover between 18:30 – 08:00 belongs to the NHS Out-of-Hours Service. You may call them direct on 111 or telephone the surgery where an answering service will give you instructions.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute a medical emergency.
Accidents and Emergency
If you are confronted by a serious problem such as severe chest pain or severe bleeding, call an ambulance (telephone 999) before calling the surgery and informing them.
The Whiteley Surgery is not a walk-in clinic for minor injuries or illness.
If you arrive at the surgery in such circumstances you may be advised to attend the Accident & Emergency Unit at Gosport War Memorial Hospital.
Please note that any head injuries must go to Queen Alexandra Hospital or Southampton General Hospital.
Eye casualties must phone 02392 286000 (bleep 1027) before going to the hospital.
