Recruitment PPG c/o Ms Vicki Waliczek-James, Operations Manager
The Patient Participation Group (PPG) consists of patient representatives, GPs, nursing and administration staff from The Whiteley Surgery. The group meets quarterly and are already accredited with the membership of the National Association of Patient Participation (NAPP)
Patient participation can benefit both patients and practices Having a PPG creates a connection between the practice and its patients in turn allowing open, constructive discussion and analysis of service provision, and offering an alternative perspective on many of the topics relevant to general practice
'Our purpose is 'to facilitate two-way communication between patients and the practice for the benefit of services provided currently and in the future' However we are unable to communicate with all 13,500+ patients The aim of this link is therefore to let you know of the groups existence
The PPG Objectives for 2013-14
1. To establish and consolidate a representative PPG for the practice, with an agreed Aim, Terms of Reference and Constitution
2. To publicise widely the introduction of the PPG to the patient population, as a facility to foster their input of constructive suggestions and proposals, designed to benefit the primary care services provided by the practice
3. To visit or liaise with other Hampshire PPG's in order to benefit from their experience and best practice
4. Through membership of the National Association for Patient Participation Groups ( NAPP), to monitor PPG initiatives and healthcare developments nationally
The PPG now have a notice board and suggestion box in The Whiteley Surgery and welcome your ideas
Please note that the PPG is not a forum to bypass the normal complaints procedure as the Practice has a statutory proceedure to comply with wher complaints are concerned
If you have a comment or suggestion you would like to raise with the Patient Participation Group, please send us an email via the form below
Please note that this mail box IS NOT CHECKED DAILY. Any enquiries not relating to the Patient Participation Group should be made to the practice directly either by phone or for complaints to Ms Jeannette Atkins, Practice Manager.
We would like to know how we can improve our service to you and how you perceive our surgery and staff.
To help us with this, we are setting up a virtual patient representation group so that you can have your say. We will ask the members of this representative group some questions from time to time, such as what you think about our opening times or the quality of the care or service you received. We will contact you via email and keep our surveys succinct so it shouldn’t take too much of your time.
We aim to gather patients from as broad a spectrum as possible to get a truly representative sample. We need young people, workers, retirees, people with long term conditions and people from non-British ethnic groups.
If you are happy for us to contact you occasionally by email please click the link below to open the sign-up form and complete all the fields.
