Minor Injury Unit - Gosport War Memorial

As a GP Surgery we do not have the facility to treat certain problems.  Gosport War Memorial Hospital runs a Minor Injury Unit which has all the facilities available to treat your problems.  If you are unsure whether you qualify for this service please ring the surgery and our reception team will advise accordingly.

Gosport War Memorial Minor Injuries Unit

The Minor Injuries Unit at Gosport War Memorial Hospital has experienced Nurse Practitioners on hand everyday to treat a range of minor injuries including.....

  • Cuts and grazes
  • Sprains and strains
  • Broken bones or fractures
  • Bites and stings
  • Infected wounds
  • Minor head injuries
  • Minor eye problems

They can also prescribe a range of drugs and medicines.  There is an x-ray suite on demand, assessment rooms and treatment cubicles for patients.  Anyone of any age can be treated at the unit.

If a patient needs more extensive treatment, staff can transfer them to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham, Portsmouth.

You can get advice on how to stay healthy and information on out-of-hours GP and dental services, local pharmacy services and other local health services. 
You don’t need to register to use these centres, or to make an appointment.  Patients are seen on a first come first served basis. 

The Minor Injury Unit is open from 8am - 9pm seven days a week.
